ABOUT AIDA

In June of 2002 Paul Parker founded the Australian Institute of Dramatic Arts – AIDA with the intention of bringing the time tested, Oscar winning techniques of Australia’s most influential techniques and teachings to the United States of America.

AIDA was in full swing in Los Angeles from June 2002 to July 2011 and in New York from April 2004 to January 2010. Paul also taught periodically in San Francisco and Chicago.

Paul returned to Australia in 2011, but a steady stream of student requests prompted Paul to do a teaching tour of the USA in 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019. Subsequently, AIDA re-opened in April of 2020 with grouped online classes in Zoom. In addition to private students on Skype, classes have been ongoing online since that time.

Paul Parker is dedicated to teaching both the art and the business of acting to anyone who has a desire to learn. He wishes to coach, educate, and develop that exuberant need for the actor to perform professionally and to help turn them into a profitable self-enterprise. This is no easy feat for many, but, there is no teacher more trustworthy than Paul.

PAUL PARKER

Australian Paul Parker began his dedication to teaching the art of acting at the prestigious Deakin University (Rusden) in Melbourne, Australia. Paul graduated in 1991 with a B-Ed.-(Bachelor of  Education) in Drama and English.

  • A qualified teacher, teaching professionally since 1990
  • Has taught ongoing in Australia since 1990, USA since 2002 and Japan since 2013. He also taught in China in 2010. Paul started teaching in South Korea (online) in 2021.
  • Has taught Hollywood film and television stars in Los Angeles as well as booking actors in USA, Australia and Japan.
  • A director since 1990, Paul has directed many noteworthy actors, but most days Paul dedicates
    himself to his students, his curriculum and directing the actors that he casts in films.
  • Has directed six short films since 2017 and is in pre-production to direct his first feature film.
  • Worked as a professional actor from 1977 to 2003. Paul has acted in 42 films (mainly short films) and 35 theatre productions. Paul has won both American and Australian acting awards and has appeared on both Australian and American television shows as an actor. Paul’s Television credits include: “The Young & The Restless” in the USA, “Neighbours, Full Frontal & The Sullivans” in Australia.
